Putting it together was really pretty simple - we started with a basic ceiling cord kit, and then simple strung the globes one by one with fishing line from the loop at the top, taking time to stand back and make sure we liked the general shape of the arrangement.
As for the light source? A CFL bulb inside one of the globes, which we moved to get this shot but which is usually nestled into the middle of the group. The whole thing took us less than an hour to put together (it got harder to string them up the more we had up there, as it was harder to get to that top loop.)
And the all-important night shot. Like we said before, a little red-light-special, but we've actually grown pretty fond of it (note: there's a bedside light out of the frame that's also on in this photo - this cuts the red somewhat.)
red light is actually very flattering, so it is not the worst choice of light for a bedroom ;-)
i love it - thank you for the night shot!

Where did you get all the colored lanterns? I just moved and want to do something similar to this in my new bedroom. I love it!!

yes, maike red light is soo flattering! My friend told me she put red bulbs in her bedroom because she heard it makes cellulite, stretch marks, etc less noticable and since it IS the bedroom ;) wink wink.
i LOVE this idea, it's also look cool in a dining room or kid's room and much more pleasing to look at than a red light bulb-ugh!

The red light would look great in my tomball apartments. That has a great look that my girlfriend would absolutely love.
