FORSA Lamp at IKEA

10-30-forsa.jpg

We covet the Jieldé and the BestLite Lamp. However, they're just not in our budget at this point. So when we were at IKEA looking (unsuccessfully) for the GLÄNSA LYSA that AT:NY blogged, we quickly snapped up the $19.99 FORSA Lamp. We're here to report...

It's great. Heavy, well-made, incredibly simple to assemble, and with a small footprint.

Available in a pretty, deep wine-red, an electric blue, and black. (We actually tried the red, but it didn't look right in our space, so we exchanged it for the black.)

(Although AT reader Olya had mentioned it in the comments here and on AT:Chicago, we've never spotted it before. Unfortunately, it's not on the website.)

I was tempted by it at Ikea this weekend, but it's yet another one of those switch-on-the-cord lamps. I hate that! It's so much harder to pretend that the cord doesn't exist.

Dear AT, do you know of any hacks for moving the switch from the cord to a pull or something else?

yay! glad i helped, even if indirectly.

i wish i've noticed it in black! or red! blue isn't really my thing.

wordling: i'd guess the only way to do anything other than on the wire switch is to control the electricity input via some other switch. otherwise you're looking at rewiring... i'm not familiar with that, sorry. :)
