Propeller Design, the Vancouver-based design group that brought us the Galliano a while back, wows us again with this bamboo pendant light.

While the Galiano had a great story (it was named after the B.C. island the twig pull-switch was found on), the Furrow relies on the design to tell its own story. The "furrows" are the little carved channels in the shade, with intermittent holes drilled completely through.

This allows the light from both inside and outside of the lamp to interact with the surface of the shade, making an effect akin to the digital readout in The Matrix. $460 here.

Most stores use fluorescent lamps for general lighting. And halogen lamps for accent lighting. Both lamps uses mercury vapors. This pendant lights is one of a kind...I love it
