Gypsy Chandelier from the Sundance Catalogue

This chandelier has managed to reduce us to a puddle of "oooh, pretty colors...shiny!" Which, when we think about it, is probably what a chandelier has always been meant to do, as well as refract and magnify light.

The pendant is particularly striking in contrast to the rough and rustic style of the rest of Sundance's furnishings, making it all the more alluring.

I'm not liking it so much. Too many different kinds of hanging crystals make it look untidy and overdone, IMVHO.

I love the idea of a gypsy chandelier, but I'm not sure that they got it exactly right.

It's also $900. Shenanigans.

I'm glad the good old crystal chandelier has made a comeback. It's a remarkable and simple machine for light amplification. There are paradoxical aspects to the ability of a big ass crystal chandelier to light an entire ballroom with a few candles. I'd love to see a designer really push the concept of the crystal chandelier with low wattage LEDs to create a very modern very low power fancy eating light. I think that would be a fun project.

I agree that it's pretty - not overdone 80s scary chandelier -- and I like that its colorful rather than spray painted white or black. That price tag is crazy ridiculous though.
What i would like to see for sale is just the basic base. I bet it would be super easy to add your own gems, jewels, and shells.

Did AT editors just start getting the Sundance catalog? Seems like a lot of Sundance posts in a short time frame.

Similar fixtures at Lowe's for MUCH less! (You might need to add some non-matching crystals for the full effect, but they were only about $100, as I recall, so not hard to do!) (I toyed with adding one to my bathroom...)
