We just heard from Michael who wrote in to tell us about the industrial globe lights he's refurbishing right here in SF, with loft dwellers in mind. Says Michael:

They are simple white glass globes like you see everywhere in SF but these are 20" across JUMBO and come on a steel rod up to 6 feet in length and a cool ball joint. If the light fixture is somehow bumbed, [did he mean "bumped" or are we just out of the new slang loop?] this allows the light to swivel and not break.
