Isabella Table Lamp from Pablo

2-6-08-isabella.jpg

For many of us, space by the bedside is at a premium. When we found the Isabella table lamp, it was immediately added to our list of accessible splurges. While a similar silhouette could be found at IKEA, the lamp's heavy aluminum base makes it feel more substantial, and harder to knock over.

We think it would hold up equally well in a big room or on an spacious surface, forming an elegant, upside-down exclamation point. The Isabella has a shorter, squatter sister, the Sophie, and both models come with a a full-range dimmer.

The Isabella is $130 at Velocity. The Sophie is $84, also at Velocity.

Hasn't that design been around since the late 80's?

Something about the materials (and even the shape a lil) rubs me the wrong way. It looks a little too, I dunno, Target. Don't like it.
