Look!: Powder Room Chandelier

3-13-powderroom1.jpg

This past summer we picked up a vintage chandelier at the Alameda Antiques Fair for a client's powder room, and it's since become one of our favorite places to use unexpected light fixtures. Chandeliers can often take a space from just "good" to "wow," and they're perfect for powder rooms, where unlike full baths you don't have to worry about moisture, just making a statement.

The painted wrought-iron and crystals were perfect in this feminine space, but we can see different chandeliers working in different powder rooms - the sky is pretty much the limit when interpreting this look.

I've always had a chandelier in every bathroom...Have a deco model over the jacuzzi, low watt flicker bulbs

This is beautiful* and reminds of a powder room that could belong to an old Hollywood bombshell type.

*And this is coming from someone who usually detests pink.

i love that idea. darn, my light fixture in 30's Deco bathroom is on the side wall, (built in sconce) not the ceiling, so im wondering how I can make that happen in there?

love it tho.

jazspin, yeah - i usually detest pink as well as a wall paint. when i had the guys mix my paint, i thought i was going to get a creamy peach. something airy and light yet imbued with a dusting of color. so when i got home and started prepping the paint and saw it was more of a PINK i was ticked! but i went with it and eh, i think i'll keep it. for now. seeing this chandelier helps.

With the window above the sink I would have placed a window grid to make the window appear to have 9 panes of glass and then put a small mirror in one or 2 of the grid-panes.
Not sure if that would add or detract from the over-all appearance of the room, but would make the window have dual-function.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but the room is not pink. Its Benjamin Moore Lavender Ice. I know because I also work for this client as an organizer. I have the same color in my bedroom and it looks very different. Want to know why it looks pink? Look at the lower left hand corner of the photo; the hallway outside the bathroom is bright pink, which combines with the sunlight and the lavender to make a beautiful rose. The overall effect is still lovely.

Hi - I'm late posting, but I have a quick question. Can you use a chandelier in a smallish powder room, if the room doesn;t have a window like this one - and without a light over the mirror? This powder room featured above is chic and stunning. And, I love the framed art - very nice.
