In this room I think I'd prefer to see those frames hung higher. The ceilings are so high, could benefit from a little visual direction.

The beams and the shelves and the ledge and the frame for the sofa amazingly make a fairly spare room look irritatingly busy, to me. It's probably not nearly as irritating in 3 dimensions.

Just looking at this photo makes me very uncomfortable, too, @Deborah. I'm sure it's a combination of the beams, the ceiling height, the metal bed frame on the sofa, "the cross" formed by the shelfing, the ornate red chair/table that just doesn't make sense, the hide on the floor. It's all just giving me an uneasy feeling. This is a great example of negative feng shui.

I like it... but I think the line of pictures looks like they all came running out like dancers and jockeyed for position to be judged. It's hard to really look at any one of them. Space them out a little. Let them B r e a t h...
