Lodz Design Festival: Nest Hammock by Ieva Laurina

01_08.13.09_hammock.jpgThis lovely hammock will be part of the Lodz Design Festival that will take place in Lodz, Poland in October. If we had a backyard we would definitely have one of these. There is something very peaceful and relaxing about hammocks. Taking a nap in one of these on a sunny Sunday afternoon is the ultimate way to relax from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.

This particular one was designed by Ieva Laurina, a Latvian designer living in Netherlands. We love its sculptural quality, the free flowing design, and the movement of its form.

Visit Ieva Laurina's blog for more inspiration.

We came across the Nest Hammock on Moco Loco.

Beautiful, and I love that AT keeps mentioning Łódź, my grandfather's hometown!

Hm... one the things I like most about hammocks is their minimal visual impact. As if the person laying in it is floating in midair.

It looks like a rainstorm coming down from the hammock - as a lover of rain, I approve.

I love it but I can see my dog or kids screwing with the strings. I need a secret hiding spot for it.

Pretty - but I look at that and think all sorts of bugs would crawl up it while I snoozed.

Ditto, ShopgirlCA...I look at it and see a great spider's nest.
