Look!: Eclectic Decor at BellJar
San Francisco

8-18-eclectic1.JPG8-18-eclectic2.jpgWe stopped into BellJar last Friday because we heard it was store owner Sasha Wingate's birthday party -- and because we heard there'd be cupcakes and champagne! While we were there, we decided to snap a few photos of some of our favorite things in the store.

8-18-eclectic3.jpgWe love the eclectic little details in this store. The mix of vintage patterns and knickknacks with old-timey curiosities is a good one. We kept walking around the store and finding something new to look at. It's like a freakshow meets a museum meets a thrift store meets a boutique. Whatever it is, we love it! The one thing we weren't wild about was all the taxidermy (we did like Piggy, the very real pitbull who greeted us at the party), but it works in this store. We definitely got some good decorating ideas from our visit.

Unfortunately, we ended up missing the birthday girl, but we were sure to snag a cupcake on our way out. Mmm! Thanks, Sasha!

Love the peacock and the double-headed chick.

it just bugs me that they took the name of an amazing novel and turned it into a hipster's dream-store. they do have some interesting things though. color doesn't lack.

I'm glad I'm not the only bitterpill in here.

I thought AT declared cupcakes OVER?

Why didn't they just call it the Shabby Chic Keep Calm and Carry On Kitschy Sparkly Cupcake Party for Women?

cupcakes will never be OVER! (Especially as a casual birthday party finger food)

and you're mad they named their store after a gardening tool? simmer down.
