Look! Jon's Chic Pumpkin Centerpiece
Happy Mundane

102809jonspumpkins1.jpgJon from Happy Mundane likes to do a new take on a pumpkin centerpiece each year for his fall table. We love the graphic approach he took with this year's pumpkins, stylishly mixing neon yellow with khaki and white. Check out some DIY details after the jump...

At first Jon tried poster paint, but it wasn't producing the flat, opaque finish he wanted. So he ended up using spray paint over primer, which made a pleasingly matte surface.

For the large pumpkin, Jon created a random pattern with drafting tape and spray-painted the pumpkin white. We love the way they all came together in the end. And the little marble mushrooms were a very nice touch, adding a harvest-inspired accent to this non-traditional autumn tablescape.

the large one is quite stylish, may even borrow that idea.

Such a simple brilliant idea!!! I never thought of abstract pumpkins! The drafting tape pumpkin is on my list for next year!

Also, I've been inspired to do a Jackson Pollock pumpkin!

Stealing the large pumpkin, but I'll be using spike tape instead.

Yeah, must try gold and silver spray paint too, "Halloween-for-robots" style... Just joking.
