We've admitted before to being superstitious, but it wasn't until we packed up our cottage recently that we realized we have a few protective or good luck pieces. Our blue glass evil eye amulet is our favorite -- chalk it up to having lived in Greece, where such things are commonplace.
The charm "mirrors back" the evil eye, lending protection to its owner.
You can buy them online at places such as GreekShops or Evil Eye Store, for instance. We've also seen them at Global Beads in Mountain View.

The previous owners of our new little cottage left this on the front door for us, I love it and haven't removed it although I wasn't 100% certain as to what it meant!

I have a Turkish one on my desk at work. The guy who gave it to me said it was for protection from "blond and blue-eyed devils!" I'm sure there is history about that somewhere!

I don't own any eye beads, but I've ended up with quite a few Chinese good luck charms. It turned out that most of them have something to do with money.
