Look! Perfect Wallpaper and Paint Combos at Miette

91509miette1.jpgRecently we visited the beautiful Miette Confiserie in Hayes Valley, which is as much of a treat for a design lover as it is for a sweet tooth! The wallpaper and paint that adorn the candy shop walls are just perfectly paired, and the same is true of Miette's Marina store...

Picking out wallpaper can be a fun challenge; it's important to choose a pattern you won't grow tired of over time, and then there's the matter of choosing the paint for the rest of the room and its trim. We're always impressed when we spot a a wallpaper/paint combo that's just spot-on.

The pale green paint with the candy-colored flowery wallpaper is a perfect choice, especially for a sweet shop. The color choices are whimsical and sweet without being overly precious. In case you're wondering about the wallpaper itself, reader karinab identified it in a previous post as being part of Osborne and Little's Tamara line.

We love this wallpaper and paint coupling from Miette's Marina bakery as well. Appropriately, it's a bit more sophisticated than the candy store, but not stuffy or formal. The deep, rich green balances out the wallpaper's girlyness. Check out YumSugar's post on the Marina location for more photos.

I love Miette! They have the best homemade marshmallows and caramels as well as divine design and displays.

Really cheery! The pop of her red sweater in the first photo is what does it for me though.

Miette is SO beautifully assembled, always a favorite stop, and the bergamot caramels are fabulous. Thanks for the feature, I'm planning on wallpapering the inside backs of my bookshelves, Miette was my inspiration!

It's nice to be reminded that there is a way to use wallpaper that is reserved and classy rather than dated and stuffy.

there's something about those colors and the cheery/classy/playful decor that makes me want to consume lots and lots of macaroons - I always end up buying more than I intended when I walk in the door!

They're very detail-oriented--I know when I go in for a cupcake, they'll wrap it in a perfect little box for me. Likewise, their decor is sweet and charming, from the plates and trays holding treats, to the wallpaper and paint adorning the walls.

Love Miette, love the decor, and most of all LOVE the employees and the way they dress to match the cuteness of the store.
