Like more and more people these days, she had the added challenge of incorporating a home office into the room where she slumbers. As she says, "It's difficult to keep everything decluttered, I work from home."

She also says, "It is still in process, as I just moved in about two months ago, so I still have things I want to do! But it's coming along nicely. Hope you like!"
We do-- particularly Jessica's use of strong, complementary colors (the saturated olive-green on the wall and the playful hot pinks and oranges on the floor) to set off her dark wood furniture and frames, and the way she's planned the space, angling her office into a corner. This is a room that balances dual functions well.
Thanks Jessica!
I LOVE all the vibrant colors. What a great space to work in!
That green is great - what's the color?
Also, I'm impressed, because I have to say that this my least favorite room layout (with the high small window that seems so ubiquitous in rentals) but you've made it look great!
how fun to be featured! thanks for the great comments, i'm addicted to AT, and it has helped me to make my fairly small space fun and useful!
elizabeth, the green is Behr, and is a midpoint between two shades----i didn't know the names until after i painted, but they seemed altogether appropriate once i took notice: Shakespeare and Punk Rock! i love it!
also, the window is difficult---i could put my bed underneath, but that bisects the room into two small cramped spaces for the desk, so it is kind of floating out in the high center of the wall. i am planning on putting up some curtains that are floor length to try to anchor the window and to add some drama to the room.
thanks for posting me lisa!
Nice.
What kind of bed is that?
Wow.. you have managed to create a very charming space. I love the colour palette, and the black really grounds the room. Looks fantastic.. fun and functional! (:
I love the color names! I have always really wanted that job - naming colors. How amazing would it be to go to work every day and say - I think that this green looks like Shakespeare?
The curtains sound like a good idea.
Looks great!
Adorable dog.
I love that pic. The colors are so odd it makes it look like a collage.
hey guys,
thanks for the compliments!
the bed is the Malm in a black brown finish from IKEA---the funny thing is that I bought the bed in a queen size but the mattress is only a full...i will be replacing my mattress soon, and i want to upgrade to a queen, so i didn't want to have a full bed...works fine--the slats keep the mattress secure, and my comforter and sheets lay nicely to hide the extra space. can't wait to have a snug fit, though.
the dog is Jackson, and he loves to play "regal" in photos...he's a good boy. part hyena, part teddy bear.
check out the url link from my name---i just got done refinishing a scavenged chair for my desk! turned out really nicely!
thanks!
pink and green!
