We had a hard time deciding which picture of Meredith's peaceful bedroom to put on the front page, and which to put after the jump.
That's because while the one above (with a stylized "window with a view," cooly-blue walls and pear-colored bedding) is practically a visual short-hand for "peaceful bedroom," Meredith's very organized wardrobe is even more serenity-inducing.
But this being bedroom month, we decided in the bed's favor. Check out the wardrobe and hear what Meredith has to say . . .after the jump.
Meredith says,
"The room is only about 9' x 11', so we have the bed in a corner and the Ikea wardrobe on the other side of the room (due to the lack of closet space in our 1911 house!). The window (1 of 2 in the room) at the head of the bed is great and a nice way to wake up in the morning. The marimekko fabric panel unifies all the colors in the room, but my favorite thing in the room is the wall color (Sherwin Williams "passive"). It's a warm blue/gray that is neither too blue or too gray, but so serene..."

it is called kaiku and i purchased the fabric from textile arts (link @ my name). the panel is actually a lot taller, but i decided to make it into a square and save the extra fabric for a later project.
they also carry the pattern as a tea towel (18" x 27") if you're looking for something smaller. thanks!

I love marimekko fabric and I love the colour of your walls! Not quite the colour I'd pick for my own bedroom, but coupled with the blonder wood furniture you've got, it complements the pieces so beautifully!
