We are not sure how is it possible that we didn't know about Gudrun Sjoden until now. We discovered the store's website searching for inspiration on the web. Our first impression was that the style and the clothing are very similar to Anthropologie. In many ways they are indistinguishable. Check out more photos after
the jump...
After some research we learned that the company was founded by Gudrun Sjoden in 1976. Now she has stores in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. We love the style of clothing, but we also admire the home goods section and the interiors featured on the website.
We learned about Gudrun Sjoden on the NIBS blog.

I just saw this earlier this morning too and couldn't believe I had never heard of them. Great stuff!

Although their home goods are nice, I don't think they resemble Anthropologie apparel wise at all. Anthropologie apparel is ethereal, feminine, quirky, a bit vintage and retro inspired, the details are usually quite fantastic.
The apparel here are all screaming color from top to bottom, not all that feminine, and just reminds me of oversized Mongolian clothing.
No comparison at all.

I've received their catalog for a couple of years - beautiful. Although I've never ordered anything from it, I save them for inspiration.
