Object of beauty. We loved callbob's description of an object of beauty in her home from this giveaway: By far my bakelite rotary phone. It's original, super heavy, vintage, and still fully functional, as it was intended many years ago. It's beautiful to me because it is an everyday reminder to me to take it slowly, sit back comfortably and enjoy a lovely conversation with a voice on the receiver...

i have this exact same phone! it works perfectly except doesn't ring so you have to have another phone working from the same number, but i use it everyday! i love my old phone and the way it sounds when you dial.

Years ago I convinced my mother to get one of these as a second apparatus (difficult in Greece if you do not have someone you know working in the phone company), and after a lot of arguing, she got one. Now I'm trying to get her to give it to me for my place and she won't!!! Love it! And still works perfectly!

I have a newer one (not Bakelite, not rotary) from Bold Old Phones that has that great comfortable handset and a really loud ring. We've put it in my son's room for when he's home from college--it's the only way to wake him up, if you're not home to put ice down his neck.
