Look!: Corks

4-16-corks.jpg

A few months ago, AT:Chicago collected wine corks. They ended up donating them to the Chicago Park District to be used for planting. We've heard of corks being used as mulch, so when we saw these in plant pots at our favorite restaurant, we asked if that's why they were in the pots. . .

The manager wasn't sure, and said she thinks they actually started out when they didn't know what to do with all their wine corks. Whatever the case, it looks a little more interesting than plain old dirt.

this might also be good for people with kitties who think that large potted plants are a secondary litter box!
