At first glance the intricate decoration of this front door -- seen on a house in Carmel -- reminded us of those henna tattoos that we've seen on people's hands and feet, but then we noticed that the design is actually that of fleur de lis. We like it (although we could skip all the surrounding objets) (see them below the jump)...

That's a neat way to jazz up an otherwise plain door. The bric-a-brac doesn't add much design-wise but perhaps it's not intended to.
