This whimsical metalwork was spotted in an apartment building lobby in the Embarcadero/China Basin/Mission Bay condo mecca. (And no, we can't tell you which building; they all look exactly alike.) The doorman told us it was by an artist whose name sounded suspiciously like "Bullwinkle." We wish we'd made him spell it. Anyone recognize the maker?
This looks like the work of an artist who owns The Dry Garden Nursery in Berkeley, CA. I haven't been able to find their website (if they have one), but here's a link to a slide show that shows some similar metal work: http://www.literate-lemur.com/gallery1/
I think it's Mark Bullwinkle

This looks like the same artist that has several pieces on tall poles in the Parking lot of the Emeryville Costco/PetMart. Dogs, Cats, people. Very whimsical.
Sorry, I meant to say Emeryville _Home_Depot_/PetMart.

Yes, it is Mark. He is a fantastic artist with an amazingly creative soul. He is based in the East Bay.
