Look! Flowers in an Unexpected Place

050409 door vase.jpgMaya*Made's unique DIYs have caught our fancy on numerous occasions, and this simple project is no exception. A doorknob-hanging vase is perfect for adding flowers to a room that has little available table space...

This wouldn't be good if you have kids or pets that could splash around the water but it's cute.

I have been searching for a bed just like that one (old metal hospital-like style, any color) in a Queen for EVER...any ideas other than Craigslist?

Not even going to bother bringing up the fact that this is done to celebrate May Day?

for the bed, I've been looking around as well for some nice iron bed,

if you google iron bed, you'll find some companies, and they seem to all have a couple of simpler beds, though never in green

A cute idea. I hope no one actually plans on using the door.

A for creativity. B for execution. That jar-vase seems like a safety hazard (even without pets or kids).

Door swings open -- SMASH!!! Water, broken glass, dying flowers... nice in an art film, not so great in my house. Pass.

so if I open the door there is a 50% chance I will rip off the heads of my flowers...right...

Hazard to me and I agree with the above users about kids and pets/ My cats would get curious.

it looks good though but then again couldn't you hang those flowers anywhere...

This would only look good if you had the older house to go with the flower jar. In my apartment the idea would look odd.

Great observation, pantone chip. Friends of mine have been leaving nose gays such as these for friends and neighbors for years.

Glass hanging from a door knob? No way. Here's an idea:

Get one of those over-the-door-multi-hook thingies and hang a recycled plastic water bottle with flowers over a hook with a loop of ribbon as shown above... leaving the other hooks for your guests to hang clothes on.
