We received a great email over the holidays from Dave, who was inspired by something he saw on this house tour, posted on AT:SF back in August. He writes,
Just wanted to share a project. I first read about rollsigns on AT a few months back, but scouring ebay pretty much only showed NYC-based versions. [more after the jump]
Fortunately my wife and I stumbled across these 2 vintage signs one day at Ohmega Salvage in Berkeley (pretty happy to find SF-based versions). I finally got around to custom building the frames and wanted to show the finished project. The taller one is a little over 7 feet tall, and the shorter one is about 5.5 feet tall. We're keeping the big guy and selling the smaller one to a friend.
(Wish we were Dave's friend.)
Thanks Dave!
these are great! i love them and the framing job looks fantastic....great find!
love it. I have to get one. Can you tell me how much I should expect to pay for something like yours.
These are so great! (I bet you saved a lot of $$$ by doing the custom-framing yourself.)
Gill I tryed getting one on e-bay but after the bidding got to $300.00 I stopped. This should give you an idea
I love these and saw similar ones featured in Kelly Wearstler's book.
