We noticed this corner storage area in an MLS listing for an apartment that's currently up for sale at 351 Buena Vista Ave. Yes, the image bears the telltale sign of real estate agent hyperbole: a fisheye lens that makes the space look bigger than it is. Nevertheless, we wanted to call attention to this great little nook formed by two perpendicular hallway walls lined with shelves.
The spare and tasteful decoration of these shelves is the work of a stager, but their configuration is what caught our eye. This is a super cozy place for books and display items, and it adds tremendous utility in a tight spot where the floorspace will probably not be missed.
It's not that the photographer was trying to make the space look bigger, but to show the unique shelves in relation to the rest of the room. It's important because that's a great look. I don't know much about SF apartments, but a feature like that would make me want to see the place in person, so the image succeeds. This was a skillfully executed photo.
