Look!: Interpur Flatware

Our haul from a weekend spent browsing the immensely satisfying selection of vintage furnishing stores in Portland included an entire set of Interpur flatware. There is precious little information on the Internet about the maker, scantier still on this particular pattern.

We are even more intrigued by the fact that other patterns by the same company possess such wistful names as American Freedom, Forever Rose and Colonial Mood, but our little find is named only INTP2. This page of Interpur patterns on SilverCollect.com showcases just how much of an oddball INTP2 is among its brethren.

But we are very pleased by the slim, modern silhouette and composite handles, both of which lend the pieces a nice feel in the hand.

I grew up with this flatware. My mother still has quite a bit in one of her 3 silverware drawers!

These remind me of odd pieces I have in my drawer at home (simpler though: no scrollwork), that I always think of as having come from the gas station as early reward points for filling up regularly at the same station. East coast, 30 years ago or more? Am I losing it? I'm checking on their "hallmark" when I get home tonight...

I have some Interpur flatware as well (some in this same pattern). I have an odd assortment of theirs. And I, too, have had similar difficulties finding a source for them. Congrats on the great find!
