Look!: ISS Designs Wall Units from Sunset Idea House for Sale

With the Sunset Idea House closing after this weekend, the contents are being sold off. The next thing to go? The ISS Designs wall units from the craft room.

The colorful piece is being sold on ebay, with a starting bid of $2,500 and a 'buy it now' price of 5,900. Which isn't that bad considering at retail this set up would run a cool $8,500.

Note that it's a local pick up only auction, which thankfully spares us from knowing what the shipping for something like this would be. And it looks like they're trying to get it out of there by the 28th . . .

I dunno. The colors are so trendy. If I were going to spend several thousand dollars, I'd want colors that wouldn't look outdated three years from now.

I happen to think this stuff is way cool. Too bad about the price, though... I can't help but think that a similar look can be achieved with the Ikea Stohlmen suite of components...

The Rakks system isn't really that expensive (that's what this is built on) - it's the cabinets that go on it that become pricey.

Even then, I think one could get a custom job with better finishes for about the same price.
