This is a fun idea...but I'm sorry, "landing strip" has a different connotation in certain circles. I think "mud room organization" would have covered it nicely.

Cute - only really works with children though.
Plus, you do realize you are going to have to either remove the bench or move up the hooks in time? The children are going to get bigger which means longer jackets.
