Look!: Leah's Transformed Breakfast Room

leah_breakfast.jpg

A leisurely breakfast in a sun-filled room seems like a perfect way to start the morning. And Leah has transformed the space adjacent to her kitchen so that she now has a breakfast nook that makes us quite envious.

Some of the pieces she brought together in the room: an Ikea pendant lamp, West Elm parsons table, and metal patio chairs that she had an auto body shop powder-coat with glossy white paint (a trick we absolutely love).

To full appreciate the work she's done, you have to see the before pic as well:

Nicely done, Leah! You can view more photos of the breakfast room on her blog.

I love how the wall color picks up the green outside and ties the room to the outdoors. Very fresh!

I like the before, and I like the after! It's a really nice shade of green. Enjoy your new room. Joanne

I read her blog posting. She mentions taking the chairs to an auto body shop to have them powder coated. Is this a common technique?

quercus - i've heard about the auto-body technique on tv shows and in magazine articles, but never knew anyone who actually did it. but yes, apparently, it's a thing that people -- perhaps designers more than anyone else? -- do. i think it's a great way to rehab an old piece.
