Look!: Lisa Congdon's New Mobile

Lisa, we love you, but your new mobile at Rare Device makes us feel a bit like anxious parents...you know, "be careful, dear, around that mobile... are you sure the strings are secure enough?"

But it is certainly one way to display a collection. It makes us think about doing something with tiny vintage letters or flash cards.

I'd feel better if they were safety scissors.

Hence the old advice: never run with kinetic art.

i like it! i also like all of lisa's other work.. great use of materials!! its funny because my nan used to hang her pots at the cottage from these old strings and then one spring we open up the cottage to find that most of the strings had broke and dented up the stove.. more character right?? lucky nan wasnt under there

Hang it above the guest bed if you have guests that overstay their welcome.

It's like many swords of Damocles hanging over your head.

DMSTUDIO - you have given me a perfect idea just in time for the big family visit :)

Okay, seriously, as long as it's secure, it's stunning. If it's not secure, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

sorry, i absolutely hate it. it's not only ominous in its feel, it's ugly. chunky wood with scissors attached to string? what's the point? next will be to "decoratively" hang sharp knives.
