How did we miss Lisa Congdon's plate wall? Very, very cool. For those of you who have much more wall space, and many more plates (okay, and patience) than we do, she's even written up detailed instructions for how she did it...

Is this supposed to be decorative? It's a jumble of old plates, none of which are rare, beautiful or even attractive.

That's your opinion, Palmetto. Beauty is subjective.
I could see doing something like this myself. I love the arrangement. It made my eyes flow from the left to the right. If I ever tried something like this, I'd tailor it to my tastes and use different sized plates like here, but of an identical design.

Gorgeous!!! So fun. I wish I had the wall space in my kitchen to do something like this.

I'd like to do something like this in my (narrow) kitchen but I'm not sure I have the space for something so busy. It might be best to use something flatter, like trivets, to make the look smoother.

It's like a fragile fish floating in air right up against the wall like a very earthy ghost. I like it quite a lot.

Love the plates and especially the arrangement -- creates so much movement! Good example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts (, Palmetto).
Nice idea, a more modern take on a traditional idea. Check out the Chicago site for David's house tour. He does something similar but more traditional and it works too.
