Look!: Old Radiators as Garden Decor

Well, maybe not exactly. But we pass by this yard every morning, and wonder what the owners intend to do with these beautiful old radiators. So far they've been exposed to every bit of weather Seattle's had to offer in the last months — rain, snow, even (gasp!) sun.

The plywood under the radiators belies any impression that the arrangement is anything but a temporary solution. However, we think these could make interesting forms to grow climbing plants on, as long as they are kept upright or out of the way of children who could get their feet stuck.

Better off selling them for scrap metal...

We have a large retaining wall in our back yard, and we've attached salvaged iron security gates to it for climbing vines (clematis and jasmine). They look fabulous.

But radiators? maybe, if given enough time. Though I think they'd work better upright....
