We first spotted this gorgeous color in a sneakpeek of Alyson Fox's home on Design*Sponge back in February 2007. We weren't looking to paint any walls (this was pre-homeowner status) but had a sneaking suspicion we'd want it for later and filed it away.
Then months later, we spotted Alyson's fantastic home in the pages of ReadyMade and the timing was right. We searched and searched, couldn't find any mentions of the paint and almost threw our hands up. That was before we remembered that the internet existed. A few short emails later and a half hour of rummaging around in the basement (on Alyson's part) and we were off to Lowe's for a sample. We were so sure that we loved the color that we took it straight to Benjamin Moore for a match (we prefer their paint....).
It was greener than we had originally thought it would be (in the ReadyMade spread it almost looked gray), but after the initial shock wore off, we're so very pleased. It's soft and cozy and just neutral enough to not get in the way of our haphazard decorating binges but doesn't read as bland and boring.
Paint color, please? Balsam from Lowe's Olympic brand
yeah, definitely looks like two completely different colors between the top and bottom images (green-tea vs celadon)

It looks like a totally different color, but they're both very pretty.
Normally I just lurk, but I have to say: I love to hear about your cabin house, Shayna - I've been following your blog since design*sponge wrote about you. You've done such amazing things with your house and garden; I'm in awe of your eye and your talents. And as a transplanted Bay Area-er, I especially like to hear about the homeland.

I wish I could trust color renditions on my monitor, but I have no idea.... But the place is looking GREAT!
