Look! Our Favorite Collection

We admit it - we're collectors. We like to think it's an inherited trait, as both our grandparents and our parents are also collectors. However, collecting doesn't need to mean clutter, and we've discovered that the key to this is to keep collections small and contained. Take, for example, our Abraham Lincoln busts and figurines.

Because they're all small, we can contain the whole group onto a tray that sits on our dining room sideboard. They rarely fail to spark conversation among dinner guests, and are difficult enough to find that we're not tempted to add to the group every time we go to a flea market or garage sale.

Do you collect any purely decorative objects? What's your favorite collection?

I can't imagine these are easy to come by? It must be extremely exciting when you see one in a dingy antique shop or at a garage sale!

Then again, I'm Canadian, so perhaps your country is bursting with busts like we are with loon references or Shania Twain figurines.

Yay that standing Lincoln figure!

My grandmother has the entire set he comes from... including the Styrofoam base. We used to play with them as kids until she'd catch us.

well i collect a lot of things, but i don't like to show them all todegether like a catalogue of my treasues, i like collections to be dispersed all over my apartment
