What is the name of the succulent in the middle of the photo? My nanny had tons of these when I was a kid and I wanted to plant some in a discarded toilet left in my back garden.

It appears to be some type of crassula (related to the jade plant). I've seen different varieties called string of buttons. The right variety would give you a similar look, in any case.
