Look! Overflowing Flower Boxes

061709 flower box1.jpgAfter checking out Met Home's Modern by Design house we took a walk through the surrounding Pacific Heights neighborhood. If you're not familiar with the area, it can be summed up in a word - wow. There are a lot of incredible houses and beautiful architectural details, but we liked these overflowing flower boxes better than any of the flashier home details that we saw...

061709 flower box2.jpgThe mix of green succulents (of which our love is well documented) and delicate purple flowers (not sure of the type - anyone know?) was unexpected and absolutely charming. The two large boxes flanking the front door did so much more for this home than any of the costlier (and more water-consuming) manicured landscapes we saw throughout the neighborhood.

Very nice! I wonder how they get the succulents to hang facing upwards? They look like they may be a bit heavy.

Those succulents are amazing. I've never seen them cascade that way and grow so large! I agree with sassydo...the outdoor gardens are a treat this month. Very inspirational!

wow - what a great color/texture combination! not a big fan of the symmetry; i don't think it works with the way the plants have grown in. but, damn!, i love how those big succulents stand out from the little bitty blue flowers.
