Look!: POM Tea Glass

11-14-look-pom 3.JPG

Suckered (or inspired?) by the packaging. You’ve seen the pomegranate juice in its hourglass-shaped bottle. This is the tea version of that, in what POM's website calls a "keepsake glass." We were decidedly taken in by the urge to repurpose it.

The tall tumbler that sits nicely in the hand and evokes juleps and grandmothers and hot days.

We tried it out as a pencil holder, a vase and a kitchen-themed votive holder (top, with lentils).

Our efforts almost made choking down the bitter drink worth it (sorry, but bleh).

I use one for popcorn. But, i like the pencil holder idea. I'm always looking for a place to store pens & pencils.

Mmm I love Pom Tea :). Although it's expensive so it's on my expendables-income-list with its buddies Caribbean Passion at Jamba Juice and Boylan's Diet Cane Cola.

We went on bit of POM binge and now have plenty of those glasses. We use them now to hold all the bulk items that we only buy handfuls of (not rice or flour). mostly raisins, nuts, herbs, etc. They look nice in the pantry all lined up.
Also, when I make granola, my husband fill a pom glass up and takes it with him to work.

Brilliant marketing idea to shape the bottle in such a way that people want to repurpose it (and keep your logo within sight).

I like your idea, little green. What do you use for lids?

We have a bunch too, although they have a painted logo. I've been wanting to find a good use for them. Does anyone have any idea how to get the paint off?

I use jars filled with vintage white buttons with tea lights in them in a rather similar way (though they are vintage blue jars)- a bit of foil or similar helps keep any wax that might come out off the buttons (or lentils, so they would still be edible).

hi heylucy, I use the lids that came on the pom jars. They snap on pretty tight.
We also use the jars for taking water into the bedroom, because any glass of water without a lid is fair game to the cat.

Thanks Little Green! I think my husband threw all the lids away :( If we buy anymore, I'll make sure we save them this time.

And I hear you about the cats. Just the other day mine climbed to an upper shelf of the bookcase to get at a glass of water. I'm still not sure how she made it up there.
