Look!: Postage Stamp Side Table

3-6-08-stamp-table.jpg

Decoupage has long held a great deal of fascination for us as a choice for renewing furniture, when paint, enamel and wood finish are arguably more accessible and common. We spotted this transformed Ikea side table on the Crafter bulletin board, and thought it was very well done.

The fact that the decoupaged table is the smaller of two nesting tables is a nice touch, since the busyness of the postage stamps can peek out but not overwhelm the overall effect — like the contrasting patterned lining in a raincoat.

It would be a great way to showcase a collection you no longer maintain and would give away anyway, but user volcano used a bag of stamps purchased on Ebay to realize their creation.
