Look!: Recycled Belts Seating

belt_chair.jpg

It's easy to see where local artist Mati Rose McDonough gets her creativity from: Check out this chair that her mom revamped with old belts.

We think it's a fantastic idea for belts that no longer suit you (for size or style reasons). Or, if you come across some bargains at Thrift Town that are just too cool to pass up.

We're wondering if Mati's mom actually sewed the leather on the underside of the chair, or simply buckled the belts at the necessary length. The latter would be much easier, and might only require a leather hole-punch (like this one).

Hey there,
My mom said she simply buckled the belts that would fit and attached the rest with upholstery tacks! Easy!
Have fun,
mati
