We think this is an excellent idea for a very busy household with a vast wall in the entryway. We have a number of items in our entryway awaiting some kind of scheduled disbursement, and since we haven't yet found a look we like for sorting paper in the entryway, this would address that issue quite nicely.

we do a chalkboard grid in the kitchen every week. it's indispensable!

This looks neat, specially for families with tons of things to do. Magnetic chalkboard would work great too.

That is awesome. If only I had the space for something like it!

I do something similar, but with clipboards (translucent colorful ones from the dollar store), and they're all filed into a wire bin. It takes up less space, because I don't have the luxury of an entryway or vast amounts of wall space for bulletin boards, and it's easy for me to rotate the days within the 'can'. About to do the same with tasks... notes I need for garden reminders, house maintenance, etc, all on separate clipboards and kept near the garden tools or cleaning supplies.

While it looks very organized and clean, life seldom works out to be this cooperative. I like it, but it could lend itself to look even more chaotic if some days are overloaded. And then it would just be unsightly - maybe even cause more stress.

Great idea - I wish my family had this when I was growing up. With 5 people in the house plus babysitters etc this would have been a great way of tracking things to do so maybe I wouldn't have been left stranded until midnight that one time I was working in high school until my parents realized I wasn't home.
Oh and for all you that were thinking why didn't you just call home? Do you remember dial up modems.
Yup.
Good times.
I'm not bitter at all :P
