Look!: Stools

5-1-lookstools.jpg

This is one of the reasons stools are great.

Besides the fact that they take up less physical space than chairs, they take up less visual space. Even in a home without that incredible lucite table, they allow more room for the eye to roam. And that's something all small space-dwellers can appreciate.

I love the idea of stools replacing conventional chairs! They look sleek and chic... not to mention they are great space-savers. Benches are functional as well as they can serve as low tables when not in use!

Stools are really a great choice when space is an issue. I love them too with the lucite table. What a great combination!

I'm sorry, much as I love this visually, if I came over for dinner my heart would sink. There is no way you can have a relaxing meal without leaning back.
I think these kind of visual-trumps-comfortable things are what give designers a bad reputation with the general public.

I agree with wannabe, they look cool but definitly not comfortable! I know that benches are really "in " right now as well and I would hate to get stuck on one!

I would usually agree with Wannabe, but I think it works when the stool are paired with a dining table because when people are eating (close you ears Miss Manners!) they tend to lean over and let their arms/elbows rest on the table. I find that during conversations at dinner parties, people are more often leaning into the table for conversation's sake.
