Look!: 'Storybook' Home in Kitsap County

Who knew Wonderland was just a short ferry ride away from Seattle? This house in Olalla is currently on the market for less than most condos within Seattle's city limits. And it's a trip. In the vernacular, that is.

The asking price is $359, 000, and it includes no less than 5 stone fireplaces. We can't say we'd choose this over a host of other options, but there's something to be said for knowing it exists. We kind of dig the two-sided fireplace in the picture, though.

I used to dream of living in a house like that as a little girl. While now I'd stop and think about making a purchase like that I must admit it still is an attractive idea to me. Talk about a house with character.

I love the house itself though it would be a challenge to decorate...kind of reminds me of Bilbo's Hobbit house, but also Luke Skywalkers childhood home.....I keep wanting to see the Eames molded fiberglass lounger in there echoing the white undulating walls...maybe a sputnic lamp...

I'm surprised that the neighbors aren't up in arms because of how different it is from the rest of the houses on the street...

Such a different house! Looks quaint and lovely.

Although I worry, why are there 5 fireplaces? Does this house have no modern-day heating system? But does Seattle area need heating system? As said above, the decorating bit is challenging. Forget about open floor plans here.

I might consider, if money was not an object.

Wow... I might considder moving to Kitsap for this place. Its still JUST outside of my budget sadly.

Does anybody else think the beige carpet just kills the fairtale vibe? I would be going nuts with the fairtale furniture as an extention of this wacky house. I'm thinking Modern Suess Hobbit.

Did anyone else follow the link to see the real estate agent suggest the place as a great daycare? They also refer to it as a Hansel & Gretel cottage.... Why would I let my kids stay at some place called that? I'd worry they'd be on the snack time menu. :)
