Our favorite thing about taking the bus from Oakland to San Francisco (apart from the green factor) is the top-notch view of the new bridge construction it offers. We were surprised to see how far along the construction is, and by the fact that we actually like the way it looks more than we thought we would...
If you still need another reason to take the bus, we happen to think the ride offers one of the best views of the San Francisco skyline around.
With a Transbay ticket costing a mere $3.50 and dropping you at the very convenient 1st and Mission Bus Terminal, we're adding "riding the bus" to our list of things to do next time we host out of town visitors.

Wow, that is a great view! I'll have to try that one day instead of my usual BART trip.

You hit the nail on the head! I'm a recent convert to the transbay bus commute. And, I've taken visitors on the trip because I LOVE the views!

Thanks for posting pics of the new bridge. We lived on Treasure Island Naval Base in the late 80's, so I was on the Bay Bridge frequently.I had to move back east right after that quake; it's nice to see the new bridge go up.
And you're right, the views are wonderful!
