Look! Vibrant, High-Gloss Exterior Paint in the Mission

050709 high-gloss 1.jpgWhenever we think of high-gloss exteriors our mind pops to local foodie haven Bar Tartine, and its deep forest-green entrance (photo after the jump). We always thought dark colors looked so polished and chic in a high-gloss paint, but seeing this house at 18th and Guerrero (right across from the original Tartine, incidentally), we think the finish can look nice in a vibrant color, too...

050709 high-gloss 2.jpgDespite many who might call it too garish or bold, we're actually fond of the color and found it looked exceptionally cheerful with the sun shining down on a recent warm day. What's your opinion on using a high-gloss exterior paint?

I love that color. I used it on an inside project (In hi-gloss, yay shiny) and had so much left over, I got busy painting the sad stairs in my even sadder backyard. In daylight the color is so much brighter than it looks indoors, and it makes me happy when I leave my house in the morning... It's already wearing off, since it's not outdoor paint, but it doesn't bother me. It's still a happy color...

I painted my house in Benjamin Moore's Cool Aqua last year and I love it. It 's not super high gloss but I used a finish that has a bit of a sheen. So much more fun and easier to wash- dirt hardly sticks!

MY FAVOURITE COLOUR OF ALL-TIME!!!!

(when I was little, I was obsessed with painting my bookcase "true blue", and when I was pregnant, I needed a "Bright Turquoise" crib)

this building is unfortunately the local pissing corner.... but I love this building. There is one apartment in this building whose windows are open sometimes, and they look they have a really funky cool house. I always want AT to ask them for a house tour...
