This is the time of year for great store windows. All over town, would-be Simon Doonans pull out the stops. At Mad Kat, a beauty supply store in Cole Valley, artist Ona Lesassier and esthetician Michele Lujan created a shimmering display using glass and plants and crystal to remind passers-by to include a litttle self-pampering in their holiday shopping lists.

The centerpiece has us salivating: Michele's own 1970's-era glass and metal vanity table, which she purchased at the Alameda Flea Market (where else?) for a mere $25.
