Created by designer Gary Hutton (the mastermind behind this toilet paper wall/screen featured on Apartment Therapy in the past), the screen adds a bit of fun to the luxurious all white bathroom. Sure it's probably not for most homes, but we loved the one-of-a-kind look and playful feel it gave to the room.

could you just walk through the soap, carwash style? If you were super skinny?

I kind of like it as an art installation, but otherwise, it's just kind of, well, it's just kind of gross. (Guess I'm living in the ruins of the future....)

I liked it before I knew it was soap. I am not feeling the whimsy. I wish it were more haphazard or varied in some way. Think in needs to be pushed more. Let's not even talk about the state of this soap after a few months hanging around in the bathroom. ugh.

Wouldn't the soap start to get... Er... Soapy when the room gets humid and wet from long showers? Not to mention, dust would accumulate on each bar of soap, and that would be almost impossible to clean.

Ridiculous and silly. It has no value of use.

the only way this would be cool is if they were coated in some clear sealant

Um, "it's probably not for most homes"?? It's not for any home, and I'm sure that includes the home of Gary Hutton. I must be way behind on the mastermind thing: he stacks toilet paper and bars of soap in the bathroom, he's a mastermind; I stack them, I'm either a pack rat or a a slob. It must be in the rigorous arrangement.
That was funny, pattymonster.

Absurd product placement much?

I hope this isn't actually in someone's home. I can only imagine how gross that soap will get after a few showers and steam. I'm not very impressed.

What an innovative way to wash oneself.

Ok I have to add:
I don't want to think of what would happen if someones animal decided to take a bite or two.

Well the idea is just dumb enough to be represented in the permanent collection at London's Tate Modern by an artist who did a more interesting take using varied shapes and colors albeit on a single strand from floor to ceiling.

visually appealing but far from practical.

Some of them are upside down. That would drive me nuts.

I like pattymonter's idea about redesigning this into a body wash much like a car wash. Just a soapy walk through. (Hey, that might really work for those who have kids!)

Vile, wasteful, hard to clean. Ick.

Dumb. Those bars will disintegrate in a couple weeks. Why do designers make these bonehead, lacking-practicality moves? It kills me.
