Machine-Washable Throw Rugs From Serge Lesage

12909rugs1.JPGIt goes without saying that throw rugs in high-traffic areas have got to be functional. But because they’re in spaces where so many guests will see them—like the entryway, kitchen, and bathroom—we think it’s important that they’re good-looking too. Which is why we love these little washable rugs. They just can’t help but be stylish—after all, they’re French! See some more examples after the jump...

The carpet company Serge Lesage offers a collection of super-soft, durable cotton throw rugs in a wide-ranging selection of colors and designs. Some of the patterns are ethnic—there are African, Moroccan, and Indian-based collections—and some are French Provincial, while others are graphic and contemporary.

All of the rugs in the Tip Top collection are made in France, and all of them can be thrown in the washing machine and dryer. Ours have stood up to many washings. We love how they come out looking new each time, and just as velvety as when we bought them.

Available, in the $90-range, from our local boutique Nest, or online from Chicago-based Tabula Tua (which has some discontinued patterns on sale).

Are they woven or tufted?

They're tufted. Very low pile, but very soft!

Thanks I have been looking for good looking indoor/outdoor washable rugs. My dog goes out back comes back in and walks over the rug leaving marks.

Any other sources appreciated.

most of the rugs are 2'3" x 3'7", but there are also runners available.
