A Great Motivator to Clean the Pantry

2006_05_10_mail_hungry.jpgWas re-organizing the pantry on your list for spring cleaning? If it wasn't, you might consider adding it, and taking care of the deed before this Saturday morning, May 13. Why? As part of the nation's largest single-day food drive, your local letter carrier will pick up non-perishables from your doorstep this Saturday morning and deliver them to food banks in your area.

I personally have a whole bunch of unopened stuff in my kitchen pantry that I craved when I was pregnant and now can't fathom eating another bite of for years to come, like tapioca pudding mix and dehydrated mashed potatoes. All going into a bag for the letter carrier...

The press release issued for the tenth annual "Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive" by the National Association Of Letter Carriers says: Making a donation is easy. Customers should leave their non-perishable food donation in a bag near their mailbox on Saturday, May 13, before their letter carrier arrives.
