Launch Party!

2006_06_26_martini_drink_bl.jpgIt's time.

AT-AF has been written up in 7x7, SF Magazine, and California Home and Design, and we're all over the blogosphere. Not bad for three months. We think it's time to celebrate with a launch party!

Maxwell agrees too. With the book still hot off the presses and the new baby due in September (by that we mean an actual baby) he's got a lot on his plate. But all we have to do is tell him the time and place and he'll hop the AT corporate jet to SFO so he can join us for toasts.

So where would you like to meet? Over in Chicago, after much discussion, they met up at their local DWR for what looked like a great evening.

What shall it be here? A favorite watering hole? A design store? Which one? You're invited, so what are your thoughts?

hey enrique... what was the name of that nice hotel bar we wandered into...? There's also a bunch of nice mid-century-type shops out there in the Mission, one on Union... not that there is anything wrong with DWR, but it might be nice to have a more "SF-specific" location :)

my vote is for someplace a bit different, like lost art salon. . .

Lost Art is a great idea for the party!

Hey aquarabbit. That place was the bar/lounge of the Cortez Restaurant (at the Hotel Adagio). I just had an early dinner with some friends on Saturday evening. The big downside of this place is that it might be difficult to secure a large party reservation during the early evening since it caters to the pre-theatre crowd because of its location on Geary. Another place I did check out later that night was Lime on upper Market in the Castro. Great mod/pop decor, decently-priced cocktails ($7-9 range), great intimate vibe, and more importantly, Muni-accessible. I originally thought it was another branch of a hip little tequila bar/cantina I love in Denver with the same name; but soon found that it was unrelated and a completely different concept altogether: cocktail lounge with a great menu of "small plate" dining options. I was there on "Pink Saturday" of SF Pride weekend for drinks; and found the vibe to be very cool. http://www.lime-sf.com/ [PS If I can work out my work schedule accordingly, I'll try to come up for this one.]

Enrique, we'll cross fingers that the date will work. We'd love to meet you!

Rosewood on Broadway near Columbus. Great interior and they have a backroom with a small outdoor space. The same people own Rye in the TL.
