Polaroid Deadstock at Urban Outfitters Tomorrow!

082009 polaroid.jpgGot any plans tomorrow? We know that many of you are true-blue Polaroid fans, so we thought we'd pass on this bit of information we just received: Urban Outfitters will be selling deadstock original Polaroid instant film and camera kits in store starting at 10 AM this Friday...

But wait - didn't Polaroid stop production of their instant film in 2008? Yup, but UO paired up with The Impossible Project to procure all equipment and stock left over from Polaroid's last factory, located in the Netherlands. Needless to say, quantities are low, so if you have a chance to stop by the Powell Street store tomorrow that could be one of the only chances left to get your hands on Polaroid film for a long while. If you don't live in SF, limited quantities will also be available in stores in Vancouver, New York, Cambridge, and Los Angeles on Friday, and any remaining stock will be sold at stores across the country (see the list) starting August 28th. $180 for the camera plus two film packs which sell for $24 each when bought separately. The SF store had 300 cameras in this morning and expects another shipment on Saturday

Interesting...we had an Instamatic back in the day. Sometime someone's going to come up with a digital camera version.
