Rare Device San Francisco

8-21-rare device2.jpgHave you heard the news?

Local artist and AT:SF pal Lisa Congdon is partnering with Rena Tom to open the San Francisco location of Rare Device.

We've always been jealous that Brooklyn was the home of the hip store that features designers, artists, and artisans (including people we've blogged like Alyssa Ettinger and Adam Frank). We're excited that Rena's moved to our part of the country, and that starting in October, she and Lisa will be bringing good stuff to us from their new West Coast outpost at 1845 Market Street between Guerrero and Valencia.

Congratulations, Rena and Lisa!

I'm in Sac and haven't been to SF in several months, so I'm a little bit out of the loop on store closings. Does this must mean I Spy went out of business?

Lynnore of I Spy is going to focus on other aspects of the vintage business. She said she found retail too all-consuming for one person.
