One of the most awaited events of the fall in the Bay Area art and design community, the opening of Rare Device San Francisco, happened last night. As expected, the place was packed, but we still managed to get some glimpses of their great selection of merchandise through the crowd.
Co-owners Rena Tom and Lisa Congdon did a fantastic job as hostesses, keeping busy ringing up purchases, rearranging merchandise and chatting with customers.
We saw a wide range of bloggers, artists and designers poking around, including Victoria of sfgirlbybay , Maggie Mason of Mighty Girl (as well as Mighty Goods and the new Mighty Junior), Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge, Meg Mateo Ilasco, and Annie Galvin.
If you didn't make it by for the opening, be sure to stop by before December 2nd to check out the current art show featuring Los Angeles artist Kelly Lynn Jones.
We already know that Rare Device is going to become one of our favorite places to shop in the city, and are especially happy that it opened before the holiday gift buying season - we keep making mental lists of all the gifts we need to go back for.
